The elements of a great headshot are personality, composition, balance, approachability, and memorability. Your headshot should reflect your personality and show people a little of the spark you possess! • Natural make up for females and hair off your face. • A genuine show of emotion; whatever the expression you decide on, commit to it. • Natural lighting if possible; or a light source from behind your photographer. • A recent photo that is updated regularly, especially if you change your look significantly. • A closely cropped photo of your face that clearly shows your features - can be in black & white or colour. • How many photos can you upload? • As default All Talents can have unlimited photos on their profile. • No. In the entertainment industry, no one can guarantee you work, and you should be wary of anyone who does make these kinds of promises. • TalentStar is not responsible for choosing the talent booked for roles – the Casting Professional who places the jobs selects who they would like to audition/book. • What we can do is help to give you the best possible chance to job. We do this by providing great resources – start with our 5 steps to success!
• APPLY, APPLY, APPLY: Be super pro-active. Apply for jobs regularly and keep going – it’s normal not to be cast in every job you apply for. • CHECK YOUR MATCHING JOBS: Apply for jobs that suit you – don’t go applying for that role as the grandma if you’re 21 years old. Check your matching jobs and apply for what suits you. • HAVE A HEADSHOT: A good clear snapshot to get you started is fine and much better than nothing. Headshots • GIVE GREAT INTROS: Nail that application message – keep it short and if you’re perfect for the role, tell them why: ‘Hi, I’m Rosie, and I own a horse and own 2 dogs, so I think I’d be perfect for the commercial where you need someone great with animals’. • CHECK YOUR MESSAGES / NOTIFICATIONS / EMAILS: It’s a good practice to check your Emails, Notifications & Messages and reply to them straight away – don’t miss out if a Casting Professional is trying to reach you.
Shortlisting is solely on the discretion of the recruiter. We do not participate in any form of discussion or have any interference in this process
The jobs are posted are from verified companies, however e still would ask users to trust their judgment while pursuing the job.
You can apply for as many jobs that meet your criteria. The only restriction is in terms of age and gender.
A “Matching Job” email is an indicator of a job that matches with your profile. It is just a notification for you to know that there is a job on the portal which you can apply to. It is not a selection call or shortlisting call. A matching job may convert into a shortlisting for an audition only if you go and apply for it.
After applying the status of the job application is pending when the production house/recruiter haven’t yet accepted or rejected but its pending approval.
Through TalentStar we aim at providing online auditions; thus saving time, money and hassle for the recruiters/clients and of talents as well.
There are various reasons why you were not being selected:- you did not meet the requirements for that particular character, there would have been someone who fits their bill more perfectly than you do. It is okay, most actors did not get a job in their first audition. Take it with a pinch of salt and move on to the next project.
In the case of a dispute, we will proceed to investigate and if there is a legitimate issue, we will either offer a full refund, partial refund or replacement of Talent.
In the event of a chargeback situation, please notify us ASAP so that we can ascertain the cause of the chargeback ie whether the production house simply changed their mind or did the Talent not show up or the Talent was late or the Talent was unable to work due to being unwell or the Talent was not fit for the job. The solution will differ depending on the scenario.
In terms of supporting documents or evidence, upon receipt of complaint, we will contact the Talent for their side of the story. If the Talent confirms no show; a full refund or replacement will be offered. The Talent will be sanctioned unless able to prove that the No Shoe was due to unforeseen circumstances eg Police Report/Hospital Report/etc.
The Production Houses will likely complain where there was a No Show or where the Talent does not meet their criteria. We have put in place sanctions and a filter scheme to reduce the possibility of such scenarios.
